NOSTALGIA E SONHOS ESCAPISTAS: UM PARALELO ENTRE A IRMANDADE PRÉ-RAFAELITA E O COTTAGECORE

Pelas lentes da arte, cultura, psicologia e política, o artigo propõe um olhar caleidoscópico a respeito de manifestações nostálgicas na Inglaterra Vitoriana e no mundo de 2020, épocas marcadas, respectivamente, pela Revolução Industrial e pela pandemia de covid-19. O recorte da pesquisa é delimitado da criação da Irmandade Pré-Rafaelita, no auge das transformações industriais, até o início da primeira guerra mundial, onde a utopia do século XIX foi abandonada (1848-1914), e do início da pandemia ao momento presente, no qual o trabalho foi desenvolvido (2020-2024). A pesquisa busca compreender diferentes contextos e fazer uma análise comparativa dos objetos de estudo a partir de uma extensa revisão bibliográfica; concluindo que a proximidade dos movimentos é manifestada, principalmente, no caráter anticapitalista de ambos. Para além da imagética idílica e lógica de sonho, nota-se a inquietação em relação ao tempo presente, a valorização da arte e do fazer artístico-artesanal, a busca pela beleza e o desejo de liberdade, evidenciando, dessa forma, o arquétipo cíclico do pensar histórico.

Abstract
Through the lenses of art, culture, psychology, and politics, the article offers a kaleidoscopic view of nostalgic manifestations in Victorian England and the world of 2020 - periods marked respectively by the Industrial Revolution and the covid-19 pandemic. The research scope is defined from the founding of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, at the height of industrial transformations, to the beginning of World War I, when the 19th-century utopia was abandoned (1848–1914), and from the onset of the pandemic to the present moment in which the work was developed (2020–2024). The study aims to understand different contexts and conduct a comparative analysis of the objects of study through an extensive literature review; concluding that the proximity between the movements is mainly expressed in their anti-capitalist nature. Beyond idyllic imagery and dreamlike logic, there is a noticeable unease with the present time, a valorization of art and artisanal creation, a pursuit of beauty, and a longing for freedom - thus highlighting the cyclical archetype of historical thought.

Resumen
A través de las lentes del arte, la cultura, la psicología y la política, el artículo propone una mirada caleidoscópica sobre las manifestaciones nostálgicas en la Inglaterra victoriana y en el mundo de 2020, épocas marcadas respectivamente por la Revolución Industrial y la pandemia de covid-19. El recorte de la investigación se delimita desde la creación de la Hermandad Prerrafaelita, en el auge de las transformaciones industriales, hasta el inicio de la Primera Guerra Mundial, cuando se abandona la utopía del siglo XIX (1848-1914), y desde el inicio de la pandemia hasta el momento presente en que se desarrolló el trabajo (2020-2024). La investigación busca comprender diferentes contextos y realizar un análisis comparativo de los objetos de estudio a partir de una extensa revisión bibliográfica; concluyendo que la proximidad entre los movimientos se manifiesta principalmente en el carácter anticapitalista de ambos. Más allá de la imaginería idílica y la lógica onírica, se observa una inquietud frente al tiempo presente, una valorización del arte y del hacer artístico-artesanal, una búsqueda de la belleza y un deseo de libertad, evidenciando así el arquetipo cíclico del pensamiento histórico.
